LAKE MILLS | An 18-year-old from Lake Mills has been charged with dealing LSD and Molly, as well as having an underage person assist him with drug sales.
Jose Raul DeLeon Jr. also is charged with five misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allegedly allowing juveniles to smoke marijuana in his apartment.
DeLeon was arrested on Feb. 19 and charged with felony counts of possession of LSD with intent to deliver, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (Molly), possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, use of persons under age 18 in drug trade, and gathering where controlled substances were used.
The Lake Mills Police Department received a call from the Lake Mills School District on Feb. 19 saying several students were not in school that day and were in an apartment in the 100 block of South Iowa Street, according to charging documents.
The documents say an officer went to the door and knocked, and DeLeon opened it. The officer reported he was "met with a cloud of marijuana smoke."
The officer also reported there were kids hiding in the bedroom.
Charging documents say DeLeon consented to have his apartment searched. Officers allegedly found marijuana in numerous small plastic bags packaged for resale, white strips dipped in LSD, and 10 small rocks of Molly.
DeLeon allegedly admitted to having a 16-year-old boy assist him with drug sales out of his apartment.
He also was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
DeLeon's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 4. Bail was set at $20,000 cash or surety bond.
