GARNER | A Lake Mills man is accused of injuring a woman he knew after entering her residence without permission in December.
Jesus Roman Gallardo, 24, was arrested Feb. 3 on a warrant for felony charges of domestic abuse assault, injury or mental illness – first offense and first-degree burglary.
About 1:30 a.m. Dec. 16, Gallardo allegedly followed a woman from a party in Thompson to her home in Garner, where he forced his way into the residence and proceeded to grab, slap, push, throw and restrain her for about five hours, according to the criminal complaint filed by the Garner Police Department.
Police said "multiple bruises" were observed on the woman, according to court documents.
Court documents stated he ignored the woman’s repeated requests to stop following her and to leave her residence.
Gallardo is being held in the Winnebago County Jail on a $50,000 bond. A temporary no-contact order has been filed.
He is scheduled to appear in Hancock County District Court Feb. 14.
