MASON CITY | A Forest City man is accused of pouring gasoline on firewood at a convenience store and threatening to kill a man.

Cedric Lee Harris Jr., 20, was charged with felony first-degree arson, misdemeanor first-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief following an incident at Yes Way North, 1224 N. Federal Ave.

At about 1:03 a.m. Sept. 22, Harris Jr. allegedly threatened to kill a man at the gas station and dumped gasoline on firewood stacked against the front of the store, court documents said. An employee was in the building and other people were nearby. 

The firewood can't be sold. Damage was estimated at $200 to $500. 

A no-contact order was issued Sept. 22. Harris Jr. was arrested on a warrant in Winnebago County Monday.

Harris Jr. is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

He has similar allegations pending in another case, court documents said, and was allegedly not truthful when asked in court if other charges were pending. 

Harris Jr. is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court Oct. 12.
