CLEAR LAKE - A Clear Lake man has been arrested for driving while under the influence and punching a police officer.
Michael Blake Allie, 26, operating while under the influence - second offense, assault on persons in certain occupations - bodily injury and interference with official acts - bodily injury following an incident April 29.
At about 9:50 p.m., Clear Lake police stopped Allie driving a red 2010 Chevrolet Aveo in the 700 block of North 16th Court in Clear Lake.
Court documents said Allie had bloodshot, watery eyes; a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and slurred speech.
Allie allegedly admitted to being drunk and told police he drank three pitchers of beer. Court documents said he failed field sobriety tests and “continuously exhibited impaired balance, lack of fine motor skills and inability to follow directions.”

When officers arrested Allie, he allegedly became combative, resisted arrest and assaulted an officer.
According to court documents, Allie punched the officer in the face when he was instructed to place his hands behind his back.
Allie was booked in Cerro Gordo County Jail, where he refused chemical testing, court documents said. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond Tuesday.
He is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court May 10.
