CLEAR LAKE - A Clear Lake man has been arrested for assaulting a woman in front of three children.

Mason Matthew Gebken, 26, was charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness - first offense following an incident in a trailer home in the 2400 block of South Shore Drive in Clear Lake.

At 8:30 a.m. April 11, Gebken allegedly assaulted a woman he knew, injuring her under her right eye and forehead during an argument.

Clear Lake police noted in the criminal complaint the injuries swelled and caused pain. The assault occurred in front of three young children, court documents said.

Gebken was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail and was later released on his own recognizance.

A no-contact order was issued April 12.

Gebken is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court May 2.
