CLEAR LAKE | A Clear Lake man has been arrested for assaulting two people during a fight.

Rusty Shane Rogers, 29, is charged with two counts of misdemeanor domestic abuse assault - first offense following an incident at a residence in the 400 block of North Shore Drive in Clear Lake.

At about 8:59 p.m. Monday, Rogers allegedly got into an argument with a man he knew. When a woman tried to break up the argument, Rogers grabbed the woman by the arm and shoved her to the ground, court documents said.

According to court documents, the argument with the man escalated to a physical confrontation. During the confrontation, Rogers allegedly shoved and pushed the man around the residence and then grabbed the man’s beard, pulling a large part of his beard off of his face.

Rogers was arrested and booked in Cerro Gordo County Jail. He was released after his initial court appearance Tuesday and a no-contact order was issued.

Rogers pleaded not guilty to the two charges and a non-jury trial is scheduled for June 15 in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
