MASON CITY | Voters in the Mason City Schools election on April 3 may now be asked to show identification.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Auditor's office, preregistered voters will be asked to show proof of identification before voting. If the voter does not have ID, he or she will be asked to sign an oath of identification.
To register on election day, voters will need to still provide proof of identity or residence. If they can't, they can have a registered voter from the same precinct attest for them, or cast a provisional ballot.
Any other questions should be directed to the Cerro Gordo County Auditor's Office at 641-421-3041.
