DES MOINES | Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered all flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise on Thursday, July 12, to sunset on Friday, July 13, in honor and remembrance of former Iowa Gov. Robert D. Ray.
Ray died Sunday, July 8, at age 89.
Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and Capitol Complex, as well as public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state.
Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect.
