For 48 years, the Grand National Rally has served as a celebration of Winnebago RVs and the camaraderie that fellow product owners enjoy. Drawing up to 1,000 units each year, the Grand National Rally or “GNR” is the marquee event for members of the WIT Club, an organization established in February, 1969 with a simple goal - provide its passionate RV owners the opportunity to meet, camp, and have fun.

While many aspects of the rally have evolved over the years, at its core, it continues to be all about having fun with others and celebrating the RV lifestyle. Today, more than 500 different activities are planned over the course of the week leading up to the rally and rally week. Examples of happenings include in-depth building tours, informative seminars, competitions and entertainment. A highlight of their stay for many of our attendees is taking in all of the events surrounding our own Puckerbrush celebration and often giving back by participating in fundraisers and luncheons during that time. We thank Forest City citizens and the community for hosting another successful Puckerbrush Days event this year.

We realize, that one of the integral reasons our owners travel to Forest City every year to celebrate the rally is the warm reception and incredible hospitality they receive from community members, local businesses and organizations. As a thank you from Winnebago for this tremendous support, for the first-time in the history of the Grand National Rally, we are inviting everyone from the community and surrounding areas to celebrate with us. On Friday, July 21, we are proud to be hosting “Community Night.” The rally grounds will be open to the public that evening starting at 5:30 p.m.

The evening will start with a car cruise from 6 to 7 p.m. with car clubs from all over North Iowa and Southern Minnesota scheduled to participate. Last year, more than 120 cars were on display. Entertainment begins at 8 p.m. in the amphitheater and will feature “The Duttons.” The Duttons are international touring and recording artists who perform a variety of musical genres – everything from bluegrass to classical to contemporary – on many instruments. You may remember them from their Top Ten finish on NBC’s AMERICA’S GOT TALENT, or one of their televised PBS specials. They produce a highly energetic, lively show that’s been named Branson’s best, more than once.

In addition, food will be available for purchase that evening at the popular “Flying W Café” serving will take place until 8 p.m as well as our onsite Scoopy Doos location offering ice cream and more

Members of the public will be asked to park at Heritage Park of North Iowa and a shuttle will be available to transport attendees to all of the activities that evening. Additional information will be shared as we get closer to the event, but we encourage everyone to stop out, enjoy the atmosphere and meet some new friends in the process.

Many of our owners have shared with us through the years that one of the main reasons they buy a Winnebago product is because of WIT Club. A common phrase we have heard is, “I wouldn’t consider buying another brand, I’d lose all my camping friends!” It’s fitting that this type of community has developed among our owners given the fact their motorhomes are built in a community like ours here in North Iowa. Our Company continues to carry on its rich tradition and has many residents of this area to thank for that. It is a special bond that these owners have developed with the area that brings them “home” each July. On behalf of all of us here at Winnebago, thank you for your continued support for the rally, our WIT Club members and the Company as a whole. We would be honored if you would come help us celebrate Friday, July 21.
