MASON CITY | Newman Catholic High School's production of “Bye Bye Birdie” will take place this weekend, with shows Friday, Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10, at the school.
Set in Sweet Apple, Ohio, the well-known play tells the story of rock star Conrad Birdie, played by Ben Hehr, who is the biggest thing to top the charts until he’s drafted into the Army, and a scheme by his manager Albert Peterson, played by Lucas Pistek, to capitalize on the turn of events, alongside his love, Rose, played by Zoe Marquis.
The production boasts a large cast of players under the direction of Harold Arians.
Show times are at 7 p.m. Friday and a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults or $5 for students, which may be purchased at the high school.
