Osage girls golf team second at conference

The Osage High School girls golf team finished second in the Top of Iowa - East Conference golf meet.

The Saint Ansgar girls team become Top of Iowa Conference East champions on May 6, beating rival Osage by three strokes, 410-413. 

Osage golfer Dani Johnson won the individual rankings, golfing an 88, five strokes ahead of the runner-up, Keagan Betsinger of Nashua-Plainfield. Morgan Hemann of Saint Ansgar finished tied for third, with a score of 95, while teammate Kirsten Boerjan shot a 100, good for sixth place.

Osage's Sidney Brandau shot a 105 to tie for 12th. Hannah Groth and Mackenna Pannhoff, both Saint Ansgar seniors, shot 107 and 108, respectively, to finish 15th and 16th overall.

It was a good day for Saint Ansgar in the awards department. Hemann and Boerjan were both named All-Conference, with Hemann receiving the Top of Iowa East Player of the Year Award.  Saint Ansgar coach Shannon Belz was named Top of Iowa East Coach of the Year.
