Osage Boys Golf wins conference

The Osage High School boys golf team won the Top of Iowa - East Conference championship for the third straight year on St. Ansgar.

The Osage boys team won the conference meet on Monday, May 6, becoming the Top of Iowa Conference champions for the third time in a row, with a 28-stroke win over Central Springs. The Green Devils finished with a score of 356. Saint Ansgar finished ninth in conference, with a distant 485.

Jarrett Scharper of Osage finished second overall, with a score of 80, with teammate Zach Duren shooting an 87 to finish fourth. Scharper had tied for the win with Carter Pals, of Central Springs, but lost in a sudden death playoff. Sophomore Spencer Krabbee finished tied for ninth, after shooting a 92. Saint Ansgar's top finisher was Brody Patterson, whose score of 113 was good for a tie for 38th place.
