On Saturday, May 4, the Mason City Mohawk hosted a trapshoot meet at the Ventura Gun Club.

School participating included Algona High School, Belmond-Klemme, Bishop Garrigan, Charles City, GHV, Mason City, Nashua/Plainfield, N-K, Osage, Lake Mills and St Ansgar. There were a total of 156 shooters.

The girls’ results included first place, Jenna Plotzke, Osage, 47, second place, Ashley Moorehead, GHV, 47, and third place, Laura Stowater, Algona, 47, placing was determined by a shoot off.

For the boys, results were first place, Gavin Varner, N-K, 50, second place, Andrew Thyer, Osage, 49, and third place, Meirick Huffman, Osage, 49. Second and third place was determined by a shoot off as there were six shooters with a 49.

Team results were first place, N-K, 239, second place, Osage, 234. Team members were Andrew Thyer, 49, Joe Theis, 47, Jenna Plotzke, 47, Ben Popp, 48, and Chloe Goodale, 43. The third place team was Algona, 234.

The New Hampton trapshooting team hosted a meet on Thursday, May 2, at the Fredricksburg trap range.

Team participants were Waverly-Shell Rock, Charles City, Nashua Plainfield, New Hampton and Osage, with 98 shooters.

Results for the girls were first place, Chloe Goodale, Osage, 49, second and third place, Adrian Rings and Katie Holschlag, both from New Hampton, each with a 48.

Boys’ results included the first through fourth places being shooters all with a score of 50. They were Cameron Mass, New Hampton, Colby Gavin, Charles City, Gavin Rings, New Hampton and Nicholas Sinram, Waverly/Shell Rock. Osage’s top boy shooters were Ben Popp and Joe Theis both with 48.

Team results were first place, New Hampton, 243, second place, Osage, 238. Team members were Andrew Thyer, 47, Joe Theis, 48, Jenna Plotzke, 46, Ben Popp, 48 and Chloe Goodale, 49. Third place went to New Hampton, 237.

On Monday, April 29 South Winn hosted a meet at the South Winn Trap Range. Participants included Turkey Valley, South Winn and Osage, with a total of 75 shooters.

Results for the girls were first place, Jenna Plotzke, Osage, 50, second place, Kaylie Klimesh, Turkey Valley, 49, and third place, Ashlynn Brock and Chloe Goodale, both from Osage and Shayla Kuennen, Turkey Valley, all with a 45.

The boys results were first place, Andrew Thyer, Osage, 50, second place, Tate Langreck, Turkey Valley, 50 , with was determined by a shoot off. Third place went to Ben Popp, Osage, Tristen Langreck, Turkey Valley and Anthony Gossling, South Winn all with 48.

Teams results were first place, Osage, 239. Team members were Andrew Thyer, 50, Joe Theis, 46, Jenna Plotzke, 50, Ben Popp, 48 and Chloe Goodale, 45. Second and third place went to Turkey Valley, with a 230 and a 226.
