Jenna Plotzke and Andrew Thyer were the top shooters for the Osage Trap Shooting time at the state tournament hosted by the Cedar Falls Gun Club on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9.

At the state tournaments all participants shoot a 200 bird program.

There were a total of 243 female shooters. Osage’s top female shooter was Jenna Plotzke, who finished in fourth place with a 195. She had a shoot-off for third and fourth place. She took fourth place by losing the shoot-off by 1 bird.

There were a total of 929 male shooters. Osage’s top male shooter was Andrew Thyer, who place 14th place with 7 other shooter with a score of 197.

Osage 1 squad took 10th place with 2 other schools with a total score of 950. Team members and their scores were Andrew Thyer 197, Joe Theis 182, Jenna Plotzke 195, Ben Popp 190 and Chloe Goodale 186.

In addition, at the state meet, there is also an all-state team. For Osage, this team placed 8th in the state tied with 1 other school with a total score of 966. The 5 shooters were Andrew Thyer 197, Jenna Plotzke 195, Mathew Abben 194, Ben Popp 190 and Ashlynn Brock 190.

There were a total of 190 teams participating in the 2-day event.
