A Letter to the Editor in last week's Press commented on the recently released study by the Port Authority or PA.

Was $800,000 of taxpayer money used to pay for the study resulting in this report? Did $40,000 of this come from Mitchell County?

Is this a quote from last week's Press? "The study says the PA should not build a speculative natural gas line." It does on to say "if there is a substantial anchor (user), the PA needs to conduct further research to determine usage..."

Does this mean that over three-fourths of a million public funds were spent to figure out there is no need to build a pipeline is there is no need?
