Osage Special Olympics

CEDAR FALLS | On Sunday, March 3, a group of four students from the Osage High School participated in the Northeast Iowa Area Special Olympic Competition. This event was held at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.

All four will represent Osage at the State Special Olympics Summer Games being held May on the campus of Iowa State University. Those advancing were Ryan Hemann, Cody Lindley, Nathan Bartholmey and Braelyn Bierbrodt.

The athletes representing Osage, along with their results included Lindley, first place, javelin throw; Hemann, first place, tennis ball throw and first place, motorized wheelchair race; Bartholmey, first place, 50-meter dash and second place, softball throw; and Bierbrodt, first place, softball throw and first place, 50-meter dash.

The group of students were coached by Tracie Kofoot.

In order to advance to the State Competition students needed to earn a first place ribbon in at least one of the events they entered.
