AMES | Three Osage Middle School vocal music students were recently selected to perform in the 33rd annual OPUS All-State Honor Choir Festival held on Thursday, Nov. 15 at the C.Y. Stephens Auditorium on the Iowa State Campus in Ames.

This is the highest individual honor attainable to fifth-eighth grade vocal students.

Students selected were Tristan Mork, seventh grade, son of Brian and Shari Mork; Claudia Aschenbrenner, eighth grade, daughter of Steve and Kristi Aschenbrenner; and Henry Mauser, sixth grade, son of Derek and Renae Mauser.

Over 3,200 students were nominated by their directors for 720 positions in the four Opus Honor Choirs. Selections were made by means of an online- recorded audition.

The Opus All-State Honor Choir Festival is under the auspices of the Iowa Choral Directors Association, Inc.
