OSAGE | At the Tuesday, Dec. 5 meeting of the Mitchell County Board of Supervisors, approval was given to hire new deputy sheriff, Justin Trees, to replace retiring county deputy sheriff, Jerry Jensen.

Trees, 36, began working as an officer for the Osage Police Department in August 2016. Trees, who currently lives in Greene with his wife and three boys, will be relocating to Osage.

Jensen has worked for the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department for sixteen years. In addition, Beaver will be adding another deputy to the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department following the retirement of Jeff Huftalin at the end of December. Huftalin has been with the department for 18 years.

Both Huftalin and Jensen came to the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Department with prior law enforcement experience.
