Patrons of Osage’s Kwik Serve may have noticed that the local business has become a bit larger in size over the past couple of months.

Owners Scott and Sherrie Beyer are in the process of adding about 500 square-feet of space in the longtime business, which currently includes a full-service car wash, redemption center, as well as sales of Iowa wines, arts and crafts and what is known as the “coldest beer in town.”

The Beyers say that in the coming months, they will begin offering pizza and broasted chicken, made with Russ Krahenbuhl’s secret recipe from the former R&B Pizza in Osage.

The couple has invested about $40,000 in the new expansion, including kitchen equipment and supplies. The redemption center part of the business has been moved to an outer building just east of the main business.

The expansion is expected to be completed sometime in December.

“We’ve been planning this for a long time,” said Scott. “When Russ retired and R&B closed, a lot of people have been yearning for that certain taste. So we decided to expand and make it convenient for working folks.”

In the vein of convenience, customers can place their order and pick it up at the new drive-through window on the east side of building. Entire pizzas and chicken meals with broasted potatoes, salads and other side dishes will be available.

“We will also be selling pizza by the slice, as well as the same good cold beer,” said Sherri. “We are looking for that perfect combination, and we think we have it.”

Along with the new food offerings at Kwik Serve, hours will also be extended later when the project is completed. The Beyers also plan to be open on Sundays.

“We want to thank Gene Wagner, Brad Peck, Terry Skuster and Russ Krahenbuhl for all their help with this expansion,” said Scott. “We hope folks will come out and see what we have to offer.”
