Lenz gives granddaughter baptism dress

Linda Lenz, right, is photos with granddaughter Ellen Lenz, left. Ellen is in the dress in the picture on the right with her grandfather, Rob Lenz.

From the day Ellen Lenz was baptized in her great-grandmother Ellen Richards Lenz's (1925-1975) baptism dress, her grandparents, Rob and Linda Lenz had planned to give her a special gift on her 16th birthday.

After Rob's death in 2016, Linda was able to get the dress back in her possession and fulfill Rob's wishes.

She also included some jewelry pieces in the shadow box.

Family members have told Linda her mother, Mary (Clinton) Richards made the dress now almost 95 years old. She is pictured in the dress in the upper left corner. It has embroidered work along the hem and bodice and tatting on the sleeve edges. Both Mary and Clinton tatted. The "Mary" picture was tatted by Clinton and given to Mary before they wed.

Rob's cousin, Nancy Minnis, found the photo. Ellen is the daughter of Kate Shoars and Tony Lenz.
