THOMPSPON | Heartland Power Cooperative of Thompson/St. Ansgar has announced two scholarship opportunities once again this year.
The first scholarship, a $500 award, will be provided to a high school senior student from each community in our service area. The parents do not have to be Heartland Power Cooperative members. Home schooled students’ applications will be included with the high school district in which their residence is located. Applicants for this scholarship need to be enrolled in a full-time accredited two-year or four-year college or vocational/technical school located in Iowa or Minnesota.
The second scholarship available is a one-time $500 scholarship for students who reside in the communities of Heartland Power Cooperative’s service area and are enrolled in the Power Line Program. Parents do not have to be members of Heartland Power. Scholarship proceeds will be utilized for tuition only. Power linemen may also qualify for student loans for tuition at zero percent interest from Heartland Power.
