The Mitchell County Board of Supervisors has agreed to give $26,600 to Stacyville Kids Care so the kitchen can be brought up to code and prevent the daycare center from being shut down.
The supervisors approved the funding 3-0 during their April 23 meeting.
Steven Smolik, the board chairman, said the supervisors had to grant the funding request because the board gave Osage Community Day Care $150,000 last year toward building a new facility.

At that time the supervisors promised to set aside money for the day care centers in St. Ansgar and Stacyville if they asked for it, according to Smolik.
