Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Mitchell County held their February meeting of the 4-H Clover Kids Afterschool Program during which they practiced coding and problem-solving skills as they learned about Iowa.

Clover Kids programmed Hexbugs to go to various places on their Iowa map. Besides practicing STEM skills, Clover Kids enjoyed eating yogurt parfaits and participated in a kindness bead activity – each bead signified an act of kindness they could do for themselves and reminded them to take care of themselves.

Clover Kids, a program for youth in kindergarten through third grade, meets in St. Ansgar and Osage Elementary schools during the months of November through April. Many adult and youth volunteers assist with this program to make it possible.

Clover Kids is open to all youth in the community. If interested in more information about the Clover Kids program and how to get involved, contact Susan Ringhofer, Clover Kids Coordinator, at the Mitchell County Extension office, 315 Main St., Osage, or call 641-732-5574.
