Applications for Mitchell County Fair Queen are due this Saturday, June 15.
Last year, Mitchell County Fair Queen Pageant took on a new look - contestants were no longer required to represent a specific county community.
Instead contestants must either be actively involved in their high school's FFA Chapter or in one of the county's 4-H Clubs.
In addition, more than one contestant from the same community can participate.

According to pageant organizer Nicole Barker, Mitchell County Fair Board members wanted to get more contestants with an agriculture background or interest involved as pageant contestants.
Barker said communities are still more than welcome to continue to hold their own annual queen pageants, with their winners riding in the annual Fourth of July parade in Osage.
Those wishing to apply should contact Barker either by email, email@example.com.
