OSAGE | A celebration of game animal diversity in Mitchell County will be the order of business at the fifth annual Deer and Turkey Expo held, beginning at 9 a.m., on Saturday, March 9, at the Milton R. Owen Nature Center, Osage.
The Mitchell County Conservation Board hosts this event for deer and turkey lovers.
The event will feature Iowa Department of Natural Resources staff, county conservation staff, local taxidermists, area lockers, hunting experts and food plot equipment.
The day will also include a trail camera photo gallery, which featured the best trail camera photos including big bucks or toms, local wildlife, funny pictures or other trail and nature-related photos.
The contest featured local certified scorers to score rack, shed, beard and spurs in the following categories – Biggest Buck, Biggest Youth Buck, Biggest Turkey, Best Shed, Best Matched Shed, People's Choice (both animals and trail camera photos).
Proceeds from the event benefit the Mitchell County Environmental Education Foundation.
