FOREST CITY | This year's Forest City High School wrestling squad might not be experienced, but they are scrappy, according to the two seniors on the team.
"We're young so we have a lot of learning to do, but we have a strong team," said Brett Walton. "We fight and battle on the mat."
The underclassmen are "going after it ever day," he said.
The other senior on the team, Jacob Trunkhill, said the Indians have a lot of guys in the lower weight classes as opposed to the upper weights.
He also said the Indians are getting stronger "by pushing each other to be the best we can be."
"Every match we are going out there to improve," he said.
The Indians need to finish strong and stay competitive in every match, according to Trunkhill.
They also need to work on "knowing what to do in certain situations," such as sprawling, Walton said.
Trunkhill said he wants this year's team to be remembered for "being close together and supporting each other."
Walton said the Indians' goals are to "show pride and fight" and "make it on to state."
