FOREST CITY | Forest City’s girls track team, which finished last season as the Top of Iowa Conference West Division champs, hopes to experience similar success this season.

Ten Indians return after lettering last season, including seniors Emma Segerstrom, Cora Holland and Kelsey Koch. Melissa Wilson, Anna Lehmann, Kallista Larson and Marriah Dunning, all juniors, also lettered in 2018.

Coach Jason Sopko has spent 20 years at Forest City High School, but he’s entering his third season as the Indians’ track coach.

“(We’re) returning an experienced group of girls and have incoming freshman that will have a chance to contribute,” Sopko said.
