CLARION | The Forest City girls track team finished runner up on Tuesday, April 9 at the Cowgirls Relay, with several athletes medaling in their respective events.

The Indians scored 217 team points, as Iowa Falls-Alden took the top spot at 243.

Grace Juhl of Iowa Falls- Alden won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:28, well ahead of Hannah Good and Keevan Jones of Forest City, who finished at 2:49.34 and 2:50.66, respectively.

Kelsey Koch won the 100 meter hurdles in 15.97 seconds, and also won the high jump, with a height of 16 feet. Emalee Warren and Henriette Winum finished second and third in the 3000 meter run, with times of 12:58.82, and 13:30.86.

Cora Holland finished runner-up in the shot put, by throwing the rock 34 feet, 5.5 inches, while Forest City also came in second in three of the team relay races. The Indians took silver in the 800-sprint medley, the 1600 distance medley relay, and the 4x800 meter relay. 

The girls were scheduled to compete at Gilbert on Monday, April 15. Results were not ready at press time. They will travel to Garner on Tuesday, April 16, for a varsity meet, and then again on Thursday, April 18 to Estherville.
