GARNER | The Forest City girls team struggled in its season-opener at Garner, finishing in third place behind North Union and GHV in a nine-hole match, with a team score of 275. 

Jesse Loges took first place for the Indians, shooting a 59. Makayla Kingland was second at 68, with Audrey Skejeie coming in third with 74 strokes. 

Carlee Frayne of GHV took first overall, with an impressive 43 shots on the day. GHV shot 231 as a team, eight strokes back of eventual winner North Union. Halle Reza had the best day for the Warriors, with a score of 49.

Monday night the Indians were scheduled to travel Belmond-Klemme for a triangular with Lake Mills. Results were not available at press time.

The Indains traveled to North Iowa for a triangular meet including West Hancock.
