FOREST CITY | The Forest City High School girls bowling team won their first two meets of the season to start the year 2-0. The Forest City School boys team split their first two meets to start 1-1.
The boys lost to North Fayette Valley Team after leading early.
The boys took an early lead 800-784 after game one but lost game two 955-845 to fall behind by 94 pins going into baker games.
Their first baker game they won by 21 to cut the overall lead to 73 pins, but would lose the next three games. Their final game they won 177-137 but it wasn’t near enough to catch up, losing overall 2520-2439.
Jorden Trunkhill was high for the boys with games of 183 and 169 for a 352 series.
The girls won over a shorthanded North Fayette Valley team 2029-1134. The first game they took a 662-333. Jazmin Trunkhill led the girls with games of 176 and 184 for a 360 series.
Against Oelwein, the boys improved by over 300 pins from their first meet to win 2755-1870.
The girls improved by almost 200 pins from their first meet, winning 2210-1486.
Even though Oelwein was shorthanded, the Forest City teams put up some pretty good scores this early in the year.
Conner Thompson showed mid-season form with games of 229 and 192, to lead the boys with a 421 two game series. Mandy Anzivino led the girls team with games of 171 and 172 for a 343 series.
