FOREST CITY | The Forest City High School Girls Basketball team has some rebuilding to do after losing a lot of seniors to graduation.
However, this season's starters -- Kelsey Koch, Makayla Kingland, Natalie Moore, Noelle Jones and Kalin Knudtson -- all played lots of continuous minutes in varsity games last year, when the Indians had an 18-5 record.
Knudtson said one of the team's biggest strengths is "communicating with each other."
"Having good team chemistry is really important," she said.
"I think we are pretty good at defense," Koch said.
Another team strength is unselfishness, according to Koch. She said the Indians are good at sharing the ball and "looking for the best shot."
Koch said the players do need to work on pushing the ball down the court.
"We can always improve our shooting," she added.
Kingland said the starters are "always helping the younger kids and cheering them on."
She said they jump around in the locker room "to make sure everyone gets pumped up."
