The supervisors are hosting the forums to get input from the public to help them make decisions regarding the county budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1.

During their weekly meeting on Jan. 22, the supervisors said it looks like property tax levies will either remain the same or increase depending on what they decide.

Supervisor Bill Jensvold said the purpose of the community forums is to inform residents about what services the county is mandated to provide, and ask them if they want to raise taxes or make cuts in non-mandated services.

Supervisor Terry Durby said the board wants to be "open and honest" with the public during the budget process.

The mandated public hearing on the proposed county budget will be held on March 14.
