Proceedings in the Iowa District Court for Winnebago County for the week of Jan. 6:

Aric Eden Berg, 5/14/1984, Lonsdale, MN, was sentenced on the charge of Count 1 “Theft in the Second Degree,” a class D felony, stemming from an investigation by the Lake Mills Police Department on December 5, 2018. Berg was sentenced to serve an indeterminate prison sentence not to exceed 5 years and ordered to pay a $750.00 fine, applicable surcharges, court costs and victim restitution. The prison sentenced was suspended and Berg was placed on probation for a period of 5 years to the Department of Correctional Services. Berg was ordered to obtain a mental health and substance abuse evaluation and follow through with all treatment recommendations.

Carlos Ramon Cooper, 1/12/1969, Buffalo Center, pled guilty to “Impersonating a Public Official,” an aggravated misdemeanor, stemming from an investigation by the Buffalo Center Police Department on July 5, 2019. Cooper was sentenced to serve 180 days in the Winnebago County Jail, with all but 7 days suspended, and ordered to pay a $625.00 fine, applicable surcharges and costs. The fine was suspended. Cooper was placed on probation for a period of 2 years to the Department of Correctional Services.

Kevin Orland Johnson, 10/16/1952, Forest City, pled guilty to "Operating While Intoxicated – First Offense," a serious misdemeanor, stemming from a traffic stop by the Forest City Police Department on August 24, 2019.  Johnson was sentenced to serve 7 days in the Winnebago County Jail and ordered to pay a $1,250.00 fine, applicable surcharges and costs.  Johnson was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow through with all treatment recommendations. Johnson’s driver’s license was revoked by the DOT.

Joshua Dean Debower, 3/19/1992, Clear Lake, was found in contempt of court for a probation violation on his conviction of “Child Endangerment,” an aggravated misdemeanor. Debower was sentenced to serve 20 days in the Winnebago County Jail, and ordered to pay court costs.

Joshua David Ulstad, 9/14/1975, Lake Crystal, MN, had his probation revoked on his conviction of “Operating While Intoxicated – First Offense," a serious misdemeanor. Ulstad was sentenced to serve 4 days in the Winnebago County Jail.
