Iowa District Court for Winnebago County for the weeks of Dec. 9 and Dec. 16, 2019

Tamara Joanne Gronbach, 7/5/1983, Buffalo Center, was sentenced on the charge of “Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) Third Offense,” a class D felony, stemming from a traffic stop by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office on July 15, 2019. Gronbach was sentenced to serve an indeterminate prison sentence not to exceed 5 years and ordered to pay a $750.00 fine, applicable surcharges and court costs. The prison sentence and fine were suspended. Gronbach was placed on probation for a period of 5 years to the Department of Correctional Services and as a condition of probation, Gronbach was ordered to reside at a residential treatment facility for 180 days or until maximum benefits are achieved. Gronbach was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow through with treatment recommendations.

Mark Allen Gruis, 6/20/1998, Forest City, pleaded guilty to “No Valid Driver License,” a simple misdemeanor, stemming from a traffic stop by the Iowa State Patrol on March 12, 2019. Gruis was ordered to pay a $200.00 fine, applicable surcharges and costs.

Wendell Paul Dean Hambright, 8/9/2000, Austin, MN, pleaded guilty to “Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Marijuana),” a serious misdemeanor, stemming from a traffic stop by the Lake Mills Police Department on July 10, 2019. Hambright was granted a deferred judgment and ordered to pay a $315.00 civil penalty, applicable surcharges and court costs. Hambright was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow through with any treatment recommendations. Hambright was placed on probation for a period of 1 year to the Department of Correctional Services.

Zachary Earl Johnson, 9/7/1999, Lake Mills, pleaded guilty to “Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance (Marijuana),” a serious misdemeanor, stemming from a traffic stop by the Lake Mills Police Department on October 29, 2019. Johnson was sentenced to serve 2 days in the Winnebago County Jail and ordered to pay a $315.00 fine, applicable surcharges and court costs. Johnson was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow through with any treatment recommendations. 

Andrew Michael Linn, 12/29/1997, Lake Mills, pleaded guilty to "Operating While Intoxicated – First Offense," a serious misdemeanor, stemming from a traffic stop by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office on October 26, 2019. Linn was granted a deferred judgment and ordered to pay a $1,250.00 civil penalty, applicable surcharges and costs. Linn was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow through with all treatment recommendations. Linn was placed on probation for a period of 1 year. 

Emily Louise Loken, 5/5/1993, Britt, pleaded guilty to “Forgery,” a class D felony, stemming from an investigation by the Lake Mills Police Department on July 2, 2019. Loken is scheduled to be sentenced on February 25, 2020. 

Emily Louise Loken, 5/5/1993, Britt, pleaded guilty to “Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine),” a serious misdemeanor, stemming from an investigation by the Forest City Police Department on August 27, 2019. Loken is scheduled to be sentenced on February 25, 2020. 

Larry Wayne Albertson, 6/11/1962, Lake Mills, was found in contempt of court on his conviction for “Assault with Intent to Inflict a Serious Injury,” an aggravated misdemeanor. Albertson was sentenced to serve 2 days in the Winnebago County Jail.

Nylita Michelle Brakel, 8/11/1981, Forest City, had her probation revoked on her conviction for “Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance-Second Offense (Marijuana),” an aggravated misdemeanor. Brakel was sentenced to serve 72 days in the Winnebago County Jail.
