Winnebago Cooperative Telecom Association is among one of the independent telecommunication companies to receive the 2018 Ripple Effect IMPACT award by Aureon and the Iowa Area Development Group.
The Ripple Effect IMPACT Award is given annually and recognizes leadership in economic development, investment, and contribution to communities. “Without question, their commitment and investment are strengthening the communities and economies of Iowa.”
For WCTA, the recognition of the commitment to the community means assisting Winnebago County with developing a new public safety center in Forest City, among other revolving loan projects in surrounding communities. “Giving back is part of our mission and we’re glad to be able to help the community grow into something greater,” said WCTA General Manager Mark Thoma.
The twenty-one honorees operate 22 revolving loan funds throughout the state, amassing $9.6 million. All companies are honored for operating revolving loan funds that provide integral financing for business and community development in rural Iowa.
