Corn threshing was a popular event to watch at the steam threshing festival held at Heritage Park in 2017.

FOREST CITY | The 35th annual Steam Threshing Festival is set for Sept. 14-16 at Heritage Park of North Iowa. 

Heritage Park will be hosting the Iowa State International Harvester Collectors Annual Event in conjunction with this year's festival. 

The grounds at Heritage Park open at 9 a.m. all three days of the festival. Museums will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Each day will feature trolley rides, scale model demonstrations, flywheel engine demonstrations, threshing, plowing, steam-powered ice cream making and corn shelling, and other demonstrations. 

A parade of power will take place at noon each day. 

Entertainment begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with the Carver Creek Bluegrass Band and Gary Froiland performing both days. There also will be a DJ playing music throughout the afternoons. 

There will be a bologna and sweet corn feed at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by a barn dance above the horse barn at 7 p.m. 

A church service will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, with kids games from 1 to 4 p.m.
