FOREST CITY | Ryan Williams has been extremely busy since he opened Willy's Garage at 121 S. Fourth St. in November.
He's already hired a second mechanic to help keep up with the workload.
Right now Willy's Garage has five bays open. Williams hopes to have eight bays open by the end of April.
"I'm just trying to get new customers in and get things in and out as fast as I can," he said.
Williams tries to be at the shop 7 a.m. to 5 or 6 p.m. Sometimes he's been there until midnight.
He also works weekends if something goes wrong with someone's vehicle on a Saturday or Sunday and they need immediate help.
"I'm probably the lowest-price shop in town," Williams said.
Before opening Willy's Garage, Williams worked at the Kingland Construction shop, where he did all the mechanical work on the company's vehicles.
Williams was at Kingland for around two years. Before that he worked at the Winnebago Industries truck shop for seven years, where he did maintenance on the company's snow plows, forklifts and other equipment.
Williams said Willy's Garage can do "pretty much anything."
That includes automotive, small engines and heavy machinery.
"I'm just very skillful at fixing things," he said.
He also can do fabrication. However, he does not do body work on vehicles.
Williams is letting the Little Indians Wrestling Club use the upper level of the building for free.
William's cat, Midnight, is usually with him at the shop.
When the young wrestlers upstairs take a break from practice, "they all come down and play with the cat," he said.
