The Forest City Community School District School Board approved two change orders for the high school football and track press box projects during their monthly meeting Monday night.
The first change order, according to Forest City Schools Superintendent Darwin Lehmann, was to move construction to a more structural insulated panel system, which came in at a little more than $12,000.
The second change order, which came from the fire marshal, called for $38,404.98 worth of significant changes.

Board member Keila Buffington said they (the board) thought they were doing everything they were supposed to do and then the fire marshal came back with something they were doing wrong.
Lehmann said about 20 schools had had this same experience in the last two to four years, some of them with projects as high as $300,000.
“Those change your budget,” he said.
