The Forest City Farmers’ Market will begin at 3-5:30 p.m. on Thursday June 6, in the parking lot on the corner of J Street and Fourth Street (at the old Casey’s store parking lot) and will continue on Thursdays through September.
On June 6, the market will have twelve food vendors along with craftsmen and artisans. The Market vendors will sell vegetables, honey, eggs, baked goods, and plants and craft/artistic items.
The Youth Entrepreneur Lemonade Stand will be in operation and Kevin Boehnke, Iowan singer/songwriter, will be the featured entertainer for the day.
In addition, Sam Dugan will be the new volunteer Market Manager. Sam is owner and operator of Cottonwood Corner Farms and works as a CPA at Hogan and Hansen in Forest City. The public is invited to stop by and welcome Sam as she assists market vendors each Thursday.

According to the Market committee, the new location offers storage for market signs and supplies, customer off-street parking and a safe venue for vendors and customers.
The market is sustained through local sponsorships. TSB Bank is the title sponsor for the season. Their support will help with Market advertising programming and entertainment.
The market is managed by the Farmers’ Market planning committee, which is partnered with Forest City Wellness Coalition and Healthy Hometown, powered by Wellmark. Both provide essential resources and expertise to continue the success of the Market.
