Sound of Music

BrickStreet Theatre announced the cast for its main stage summer musical, The Sound of Music. The cast is comprised of North Iowa actors from Forest City, Mason City, Lake Mills, Leland, Garner, Woden and Lakota.

Cast members include Maria Rainer - Elissa Hanna (Forest City), Captain Von Trapp - Doug Snyder (Forest City), Elsa Schraeder - Elizabeth May (Forest City), Max Detweiler - Kirk Jefson (Forest City), Mother Abbess - Kayla Halfpap (Mason City), Liesl Von Trapp - Lydia Saxton (Lake Mills), Friedrich Von Trapp - Cooper Littrell (Forest City), Louisa Von Trapp - Claire Levine (Lake Mills), Kurt Von Trapp - Ian Thompson (Forest City), Brigitta Von Trapp - Claire Weaver (Forest City), Marta Von Trapp - Aviva Newman (Forest City), Gretl Von Trapp - Olivia Thompson (Forest City), Rolf Gruber - Charles Wycoff (Lakota), Sister Berthe - Beth Snyder (Forest City), Sister Margaretta - Linda Ferjak (Forest City), Sister Sophia - Vanessa Doden (Forest City), Franz - Dan May (Forest City), Frau Schmidt - Diane Wilson (Woden), Herr Zeller - Lindsay Eckerman (Forest City), Baroness Elberfeld - Joyce Schmidt (Forest City), Admiral von Schreiber - Tim Fredrickson (Forest City) and New Postulant - Grace Lackore (Forest City).

The multi-generational cast will present five performances in the Boman Fine Arts Center, July 21-22 and 26-28. The Sunday matinees start at 2 p.m. with all other performances at 7 p.m.

Lynnea Fredrickson-Smith is directing with musical direction by Nathaniel Hedin Schmidt. General seating tickets cost $15 per adult and $10 per student with I.D. They can be purchased at the Forest City Chamber or online at www.brickstreettheatre.org. Those in need of accessible seating are asked to arrive early. Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain.
