Algona High School dropped two matches at the Algona Quad meet on Thursday, Jan. 24 losing to Emmetsburg 49-15, and West Hancock 34-28.
The Eagles cruised out of the starting gate, winning their first six matches against the Bulldogs.
Algona fought back, winning five of the next six, but couldn't make up the deficit. Emmetsburg also beat West Hancock 40-24.

West Hancock had three wrestlers place second in the conference meet on Saturday, Jan. 26.
Tate Hagen lost to Spencer Mooberry of Osage in the 170 pound division, by a 6-4 decision.
182 pound Cole Kelly lost to Tucker Kroeze of Belmond-Klemme in a 21-11 major decision. Chandler Redenius lost in the 285 pound championship match by a 4-2 decision. Matthew Francis finished in third place in the 195 pound division, beating Keaton Miller of Osage by a pin at 3:18.
