West Hancock’s softball team doesn’t have any seniors, but that has not impacted the Eagles’ outlook on this season.
Ethan Weiss, entering his second year as West Hancock’s coach, will look to help the team improve after it went 2-23 a season ago.
Weiss’ squad will be led by juniors Maddie Eisenman, Riley Hiscocks and Marissa Eekhoff. Underclassmen Carlee Bruns, Grace Rosin and Kennedy Kelly are also expected to make an impact.
Bruns batted .288 as a freshman, and Eisenman started 24 games for the Eagles last season.

“We will look to grow and compete as a team,” Weiss said. “Our pitchers have gained strength and control. Offensively we will look to score more runs this year, in order to stay in games and compete.
"Defensively we need to replace all three outfield positions due to graduation. We have young outfielders ready to step up and take over their new roles. We have high expectations for this year.”
First-week games: May 20 at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows (Results were not available at press time); May 21 vs. Nashua-Plainfield; May 24 at Rockford.
