AKRON | The Eagles blew out their second consecutive opponent Friday, steamrolling Akron-Westfield to punch their ticket to the UNI Dome for the Class A Semifinals.
The final score was West Hancock 50, Akron-Westfield 14.
Tate Hagen rushed the ball only nine times for 52 yards, but he scored a pair of touchdowns. Cole Kelly was the Eagles' star in the backfield, as the sophomore racked up 203 yards and three scores on 26 carries. Josef Smith added a touchdown and 65 yards on 11 attempts.
Brayden Leerar's lone pass attempt went for a 16-yard score to Caleb Eckels.
West Hancock (9-2) has scored 92 points through its pair of playoff games thus far.
The Eagles play at 10 a.m. on Friday in a Class A semifinal match up against Hudson (11-0).
If they win, the Eagles would play the winner of the Edgewood-Colesburg (10-1) vs. AHSTW, Avoca (11-0) game for the Class A championship.
