IOWA FALLS | West Hancock placed second at the Gerry Lenguadoro Cadet Relays on Tuesday, April 9, finishing with 128.5 points. Iowa Falls-Alden secured a first-place finish with 173. 

North Butler (88.5), Garner-Hayfield-Ventura (85) and South Hardin (66.5) placed third, fourth and fifth, respectively. 

Gavin Becker placed first in the 1,000-meter dash with a time of 11.72. Lucas Weiland was fourth, finishing in 12.16.

Weiland earned a second-place finish in the 200m dash, finishing in 24.22.

Josef Smith's time of 15.64 was good for first in the 110m hurdles. He placed first in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 59.22.

Becker and Smith placed first and second, respectively, in the long jump. Becker jumped 19 feet, 3.5 inches, and Smith jumped 19 feet. 

The Eagles' 4x100 relay team placed first with a time of 47.51.

On Monday, April 15, the Eagles traveled to North Union for a meet. Results were not available at press time. The boys travel to Belmond-Klemme on Tuesday, April 16, for a meet.
