Much like West Hancock’s softball team, the Eagles’ baseball program is looking to improve after a lackluster 2018 season.
A trio of key seniors (Caleb Eckels, Gavin Becker and Colton Cheever) return, as well as five juniors.
Last season, junior Tate Hagen led the team with a .275 batting average and eight RBIs. Hagen was also the team’s primary pitcher, tallying 30 innings and holding a 5.37 ERA.

Gavin Becker, another senior, had the third-most innings (25 2/3) and had a team-best 4.91 ERA.
“The attitudes shown in other sports needs to translate to the baseball field this year to support the number of arms on the team,” coach Josh Eisenman said. “Overall, the conference should be pretty even top to bottom.”
