West Hancock softball notched its first win of the season on Monday, June 4.

The Eagles defeated Eagle Grove 8-7.

Madison Eisenman got the win from the circle with six strikeouts, five walks and five earned runs.

“The Eagles had a great team victory tonight,” West Hancock head coach Ethan Weiss said. “We were able to overcome a two-run deficit to start the 7th inning. Sydney Hudspeth scored the winning run. Great leadership and team softball tonight!”

On Friday, June 8, the Eagles would lose to North Union.

The Cougars took over the game with at least two runs scored in each of three consecutive innings to defeat West Hancock 8-0.

Riley Hiscocks had two hits and Sydney Hudspeth added a double for the Eagles.

The Eagles were on the road last night at Bishop Garrigan, results were not available at press time.

West Hancock will be at home Wednesday, June 13 against Northwood-Kensett and Friday, June 15, against Newman Catholic.
