The West Hancock boys basketball team finished last week with a 1-1 record. The Eagles’ offense came through in a big way Friday night in a 96-65 win over North Union. West Hancock fell to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura 73-56 on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
In the big win over the Warriors last Friday night, Gavin Becker poured in a career-high 32 points for West Hancock as the Eagles got by North Union in a high-scoring.
Lucas Weiland added 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for the Eagles, MaCoy Yeakel scored 18, grabbed nine rebounds and had five steals, and Joe Smith added 11 points of his own.
Brayden Leerar and Tanner Thompson chipped in five points apiece, Eisenman had four and Tristan Hunt tossed in three.
West Hancock finished 16 of 31 from 3-point territory.
In their loss vs. GHV, the Eagles had only Becker finish in double digits as he led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds.
Smith added eight points and five rebounds, Yeakel had eight points of his own, and Eisenman and Weiland each scored seven. Weiland also grabbed seven rebounds.
