BRITT | To help celebrate Youth Art Month, the MacNider Museum holds an annual exhibit which rotates between elementary, middle school and high school students.

This year the exhibit, “Classy Creations,” showcases work from high school students, until Saturday, April 6.

West Hancock was honored with the selection of three artworks to be exhibited. These works are a magazine cover designed by Keifer Carlson, a ceramic piece by Payton Daniels and a marker drawing by Emma Faust.

Teachers from area schools submit work for consideration and a panel juries the show to select which works will be included. This year approximately 150 works were submitted for consideration with 49 works chosen for display.

In addition, each year, the Clear Lake Art Center invites local school to hang artwork for their show. This year, 14 high school, 50 middle school and 26 elementary students from West Hancock had their work displayed in this exhibit.
