Outdoor Youth Day 1

The youth who attended the 2018 Outdoor Youth Day.

Winnebago/Hancock Pheasants Forever will be having its annual Outdoor Youth Day from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 8, at Walking Eagle Marsh, 1970 340th St., Forest City (1.5 miles east of Bear Creek Golf Course). Registration starts at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 8:45 a.m.

The event is free. All ages are welcome. Lunch is provided. All youth must be accompanied by an adult. No drop offs.

Activities include: pointing dog hunt simulation, hunting demonstrations - turkey, waterfowl and deer, trapping demonstrations - furs and traps, shooting (12-15 year olds only) - shotgun, clay pigeons, shell reloading, .22 targets and BB guns, archery (all ages) - regular and 3D targets, outdoor stations - seed balls, duck identification, fishing pole casting, knot tying and much more.

New attendees receive a free Pheasants Forever ringneck youth membership. 12- to 15-year-olds who register and attend will be entered into a drawing for a youth 20 gauge shotgun.

Pheasants Forever covers all costs for this event through proceeds from the Pheasants Forever golf tournament and donations from supporters.
