DOUGHERTY | The North Central Iowa Genealogical Society will holds its monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at the former St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Complex, 420 East Patrick Street, Dougherty.
The St. Patrick’s Catholic Church complex includes the 124-year-old church, the cemetery, the rectory, the former parochial school and other buildings.
The local non-profit organization S.T.P.A.T.S. acquired the property when the church was closed by the Archdiocese of Dubuque in July 2012. Nuns from the Blessed Sacrament Convent will offer information on the history of the facility, the town of Dougherty and the local area as well as a tour of the complex.
